Spencer-Mr. Arnold Lee "Zip" Bailey, 55, departed this life on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He was born in Rowan County on October 1, 1958. He was the son of the late Robert Lee Bailey.
He was a graduate of North Rowan High School, and served in the United States Army. He worked in the local Textile Mills, and also worked as a carpenter with local builders. Zip was the family babysitter!
Those he leaves to cherish his memories are: a son, Thomas Leon Gaither of Salisbury; and his mother, Mrs. Mary Bailey of Salisbury; four brothers, Timothy Bailey, and Stanley Bailey of Salisbury, Darryl Bailey of Mooresville and Andy McEntire of East Spencer; three sisters, Robbin Black of East Spencer, Adrienne Anderson and Joyce Bailey of Salisbury; four aunts, Mary Tucker of Mooresville, Loritha Lutz and Cynthia Pharr of Salisbury, and Barbara McCollum of Georgia; one uncle, Arthur Woodbury of Winston Salem, NC; other family members, a special friend Johnnie Mae Davis, his special cousins from Philadelphia, his troop of knuckleheads (nieces and nephews) as Zip would call them, and his East Spencer friends.
Funeral Service Saturday, October 12, 2013, visitation 1:30pm, follow by service at 2:00pm, Word of Life Family Worship Center, Salisbury, N.C. Rev. Dr. Martha Starks, Eulogy and Minister Tracy E.
