Mr. Daniel Mccoy Mccourt

Daniel "Dan" McCoy McCourt, age 62, passed away at his home in Cleveland, North Carolina on August 5th, 2024. He was born on May 11, 1962, in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, to the late Daniel E. and Ruthie P. (Cowher) McCourt. Dan was a kind father, husband, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He grew up in Montgomery, Pennsylvania with his three brothers, Jim, Jody, and Matt. After high school, Dan worked as an aircraft maintainer in the United States Air Force at Fort Elmendorf in Anchorage, Alaska; by the end of his term, he was a senior airman.

We will remember Dan as an avid outdoorsman, which was shown through his love of hunting, fishing, and camping. Dan had a loud, contagious laugh and a love of DVDs from the "five-dollar-movie-bin" at Walmart. Dan spent his weekends watching a game, a race or tending to his property.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel E. And Ruthie P. McCourt, as well as his brother, Martin W. McCourt. Surviving his death are his wife, Christina Gardner McCourt (Cleveland, NC), his three children, Scott (Lock Haven, PA), Sarah (Raleigh, NC), and Jessica (Cleveland, NC), as well as his three grandchildren, Savannah, Lorelei, and Atlas McCourt. Daniel is also survived by his brothers: James E. McCourt (Karen), Trout Run, PA, Jody R. McCourt (Diane), Berlin, MD, and Matthew M. McCourt (Donna), Liverpool, PA and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Professional services entrusted to Carroll-Waters Funerals & Cremations in Cleveland, North Carolina. Dan's service will be held on Saturday, August 17th, at Ambassador for Jesus Christ at 210 Clement Street, Cleveland, North Carolina at 1:00 pm.
