Debbie LaVern Cuthbertson passed away quietly in her home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in Cleveland, North Carolina.
She was born on February 6, 1971, in Rowan County, North Carolina to the late John F. Cuthbertson and Brenda Cuthbertson of Cleveland, North Carolina. Debbie graduated from West Rowan High School in Mt. Ulla, North Carolina. She also attended the University of Phoenix in Arizona, where she was one credit from graduating with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
She worked for Jockey International, New Beginning Group Home and Youth Haven before she became ill and became disabled.
She joined Ambassadors for Jesus Christ Church at an early age. She served as a nurse, choir member, youth leader, youth choir director, prison ministry, pastor's aide, hospitality, decorator and Rowan Helping Ministries as a van driver.
Debbie loved the youth, and they loved her. She loved crafts and making things with her hands. She loved people and helping others. She was always lending a helping hand. She loved to serve others.
Preceded her in death were her father, John F. Cuthbertson and a sister, Brenda Gail Cuthbertson.
She is leaving to cherish her memories, her mother, Brenda Cuthbertson of the home; four children, Antonio (Wendy) Cuthbertson of Statesville, North Carolina, Lakeshia (Joe) Cuthbertson of Salisbury, North Carolina, Darrius (Kesha) Worth of Salisbury, North Carolina, Dishon Worth of the home; two step children, Maleisha Connor and Jiron Rucker; two brothers, Johnny (Donna) Cuthbertson of Cleveland, North Carolina and Anthony (Jamie) Cuthbertson of Daytona Beach, Florida; two sisters, Shirley (Mitch) Hampton of Cleveland, North Carolina and Rev. Sharon Smoot of the home; eleven grandchildren, Aniya, Myria, Antonio Jr, Alyia, Aleasha, Donald Jr, Kadien, Kalenna, Josiah, Dishon Jr. and Jyinn; a special niece/caregiver, Brittany Hampton; best friend, Edna Watkins; Goddaughter, Rhionna Vaughters; aunts and uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements: Saturday May 18, 2024 with visitation at 1:30 pm, followed by funeral 2:00 pm at Ambassadors for Jesus Christ Church, Cleveland, North Carolina.
