Ms. Emma Jean Lewis

Ms. Emma Jean Lewis, a beloved sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend graced the world with her presence on July 1, 1965 in Attala County, Mississippi. She was the precious baby girl born to Jessie Roe and Classie Lewis. She passed away and left a deep hole in the hearts of so many on August 27, 2021 at the age of 56. Emma, who her family affectionately called "Kitty", was full of life, loved people, loved making people laugh, was loyal to her friends and loved having fun. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Roe, Sr. and Classie Lewis, and her sister, Liza Valley. Emma leaves to mourn but cherish her precious memories her siblings: Pastor Mary Allen, James Brooks, and Minister Donald(Tarshia)Lewis, all of Saginaw, MI; Allen(Nicole)Lewis of Wetumpka, AL; Mary Ball, Louise(James) Winters, Emma Butler all of Durant, MS; Jessie Lewis II, Eddie(Darlene) Lewis of Durant, MS and Danny(Christy)Lewis of Waterloo, IA; Emma had a plethora of nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends whom she adored including her classmates at McAdams High School. Some of the special nephews and nieces that she was especially close to were Timothy Allen, Andre Allen, Trevor Lewis, Michelle Valley, Makayla Williams and LaQuondra Lewis, although she loved and cherished each and every one of them from the bottom of her heart. Although, Emma did not birth children of her own, she loved and treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her very own, along with a special little boy named Jeremiah McDaniel of Cleveland, North Carolina. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021, with visitaion at 1pm, followed by service 2pm, at South Iredell A.M.E. Zion Church, Troutman, North Carolina.
