Mr. George W. Trueblood, 62, of Salisbury, North Carolina transitioned from earth to heaven on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1955 in Rowan County, and he was the son of the later Marion and Eleanor Ingram Trueblood, Sr. He attended the Rowan County Public Schools grade 1-8 at Dunbar School, and grades 9-12 at North Rowan High School graduating in 1973. Post high school, George attended N. C. Central University in Durham, North Carolina. Through the years George was employed with Cartex Mills, N.C., Finishing Company for 27 years, GDX and Maxon.
At a local level, George participated in the following Piedmont Players Productions: Little Shop of Horrors, Ain't Misbehaving, Hot Mikado, The Wiz, Sophisticated Ladies and Lady Sings the Blues. He participated in several community choirs. Spiritual Doxology, BaLu Choir, The Ensemble, 100 Men in Black, Ms. Phyllis Partee and Friends Choir. George was also a soloist for numerous weddings, home going services, reunions and other special events.
A lifelong member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, George was a member of the Praise Team, Gospel, Senior and Men's Choirs. He is also credited with starting the Men's Choir at Jerusalem. Through the years George served as a former Deacon, Church Treasurer, and as a short-term computer teacher for the church.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Dana Harris Wilson and Cornell Wilson.
George leaves precious memories to his wife of 29 years Edith Reeves Trueblood; two sons, Tyrone D. Massey and John E. Harris, both of Salisbury; one daughter, Shannon Harris of Salisbury; three Grandchildren, Remy Griffin-Massey, Teikka Mccleese, and Julian E. Harris; one great grandchild, Draiden Mccleese. He is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law Elder Marion and Apostle Dr. Patricia Trueblood; one sister, Francella Y. Trueblood, all of Salisbury; George leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the Jerusalem Baptist Church and Crown and Glory Lutheran Church families.

Arrangements will be Saturday, February 24, 2018, with visitation at 1pm, followed by service 2pm, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, East Spencer, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
