Mr. Howard Isaac Long, February 7, 2024, God called home one of his servants, Howard Isaac Long. He made his transition from earth to Glory at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. Our beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather was born on June 26, 1953, in Cabarrus County to the late James Isaac Long and the late Elizabeth Gibson Long. Howard "Junior" worked hard by his father's side as a Concrete Mason of Ike Long's Concrete Finishing, until he later established his own business Long Designs. Howard attended Macedonia Baptist Church, where he and Rev. Miller became great friends. Everyone that knew Junior knew he could hold on to a Dollar! He could squeeze a dollar so tight he could make George Washington scream! Howard, who was affectionately called "Junior" was educated in the Cabarrus County School System. Graduated from Concord High School in the class of 1971. Howard was a phenomenal Basketball and Baseball Player, and he received scholarships to show off his talents. He was preceded in death by; his father and mother James Isaac Long and Elizabeth Gibson Long of Concord, North Carolina; two sisters, Evelyn Caldwell of Salisbury, North Carolina and Elizabeth Anne Williford Parks of Concord, North Carolina. Howard leaves to cherish his Loving wife of twenty-eight years, Patricia Long of the home; two children, Afton Witherspoon of Concord, and Latrisha Long of Woodleaf; a sister, Lynda Smith (Winslow) of Concord; brothers, Ronnie Long (Ashley), and John Anthony Long (Pennie) all of Concord, Allen Ray Long (Shelia) of Anniston, AL, and Samuel Alex Long (Janet) of Killeen, TX; seven grandchildren, Shanni Warren, Michael Faulk, Shakaiyah Faulk, MyKaisia Faulk, Alasia Scott, Amari Witherspoon, and Amir Witherspoon; one great granddaughter, Emari Guatemala; A host of other relatives and friends. Memorial Service: Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 3 p.m., Barber Scotia College, 145 Cabarrus Ave., W., Concord, North Carolina 28025.
