Mrs. Imogene Brown Sifford

June 10, 1930 — May 26, 2017

Obituary Mrs. Imogene Brown Sifford, affectionately known as "Gene" age 86, passed away on, Friday, May 26, 2017 at her residence in Salisbury. North Carolina. She was born to the late John Brown and Dollie Mae Brown. She was born and raised in Hartwell, Hart County, Georgia. She was educated in the Hart County School System. Her previous job experience included being a seamstress, and greeter, but the job she enjoyed most was being at home with her grandchildren and great-grandson. She was compassionate, friendly and always kept you laughing. If she wasn't taking care of the kids, she was cooking, telling stories about the good ole days and having the grandchildren Cammie and Tara to go pick out their own hickory stick, so she could show them more love. Gene had a hand in raising so many children that we lost count. She was a true blessing in her community and she loved singing in the choir with the Mt. Zion Jubilees. She loved to sing the song "I love the Lord." She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Kizer Vincent Sifford, Sr. Those who cherished her memory: sisters, France Gibbs of Caynus, Ga., and Glendora Wilson Davis of Stone Mountain, Ga.; daughters, Diane (Andrew) Harris of Salisbury, Cammie Sifford of Charlotte, and Phyllis Charleston of Salisbury; Sons, Steve (Betty) Sifford of Winston Salem and Kizer Vinson (Lavidia) Sifford, Jr., of Salisbury; many grandchildren, great-grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and best friends. Visitation and Funeral: Visitation will be held, Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 1:30pm, follow by service at 2pm, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Mt. Ulla, North Carolina. Interment follow in the church cemetery. Boone-Carroll Funeral Home of Cleveland, North Carolina will be assisting the Sifford family. Online condolences may be made at boone-carrollfh.com
