Mr. James Curtis Luther

Salisbury-Mr. James Curtis Luther, age 69, was called to rest on, Monday, March 14, 2016, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury, North Carolina. He was born on, December 29, 1946, in Lysville, North Carolina, to the late Charlie and Lizzie Luther. He attended Leaks Street High School, Rockingham, North Carolina, and graduated in 1968. Through-out his life he worked at Sears, Coca Cola, Lyon Shaw and was a driver for Safety Taxi for a long time, until he became an entrepreneur for his own business, which was called Luther Lawns. This was his pride and joy. His motto was "Leave a message, you're next." James Luther was devoted and was an active member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. James served on the Usher Board (Senior Usher), Pastor's Aide Committee, and Church Ground Keeper. He faithfully led devotions and praise services. Mr. Luther was respectfully, dedicated and appreciated by all. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Lizzie Luther; two brothers, Jimmy Luther and Charlie Luther, Jr.; two sisters, Carrie Mae Wilks and Katie Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Rita Cortez Luther; two sisters, Luvenia Moore and Doris Luther of Salisbury; three sons , Jimmy Bostich of Tennessee, Terrance Luther (Katie) of Virginia, and Tony Luther (Yolette) of Georgia; three daughters, Chona (Aaron) of North Carolina, Silver (Fred) of WI, and Sonya (Bobby) of North Carolina; fifteen Grandchildren; eight Great-Grand, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; some long-time and devoted friends, Patricia Kelly, Aurealia "Cookie" Campbell, Jerry Neely, Otha Cruse "Jr", and James Sloan. Favorite Saying "This is It" Funeral Service: Visitation will be 1:30PM, Saturday, March 19, 2015, follow by funeral 2PM, Shady Grove Baptist Church, East Spencer, North Carolina, interment will be in the church cemetery.
