Mrs. Jessie Mae Marina Wood

Mrs. Jessie Mae Marina Wood age 97, was the daughter of the late Ernest Marina and Maggie Brown Marina. She was born, April 19, 1920 in Abbeville, South Carolina. On Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Liberty Common Health & Nursing Center, Mrs. Wood exited this life and entered into eternal life. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and was a member of the Trustee Board. She attended Allen Temple Presbysterian Church of Cleveland, North Carolina in her earlier years. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold "Bus" Wood; a son, Richard Lester Morris, Sr.; two sisters and seven brothers. Those left to cherish her memories are, six sons, Nathaniel Morris, Roosevelt Propst (Jean), Larry Propst, Garry Propst, Wade Propst all of Salisbury, North Carolina, Jerry Propst of Statesville, North Carolina; five daughters, Margaret Smith, Kernersville, North Carolina, Peggy Brooker, and Mary Barber both of Salisbury, North Carolina, Hazel Jenkins, Charlotte, North Carolina, Sonia Pettie, Baltimore, Maryland; a sister, Essie Hill, Baltimore, Maryland; A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends. Funeral Arrangements: Visitation will be held Friday, March 16, 2018, at 12Noon, followed by service 12:30pm, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1920 Shirley Avenue, Salisbury, North Carolina. Reverend Nilous Avery will present the eulogy. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Salisbury, North Carolina.
