Salisbury-Mrs. Laverne Cleo Allen, passed away at her residence in Salisbury, North Carolina on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Laverne was born, September 17, 1945 in Rowan County to Ara Mae Slade and Buddy Bolt. Laverne enjoyed playing spades, and 2,500 card game. She loved life to the fullest. She loved and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Salisbury, North Carolina. We all miss you, "you may be gone, but never forgotten." Laverne was preceded in death by her two grandsons Travis Vinson, Jr., and Demareo O'Bryant Bost. Those left behind to cherish her memories are her son, Kenneth Bolt; three daughters, Lynne Bolt, Karen Blackwell and Avera (Brain) Rorie; one brother, Parnell Bolt; three other sons, Sherman Miller, Broderick Daniels and a special son Carlos Farris all of Salisbury; ten grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one favorite niece, Cheryl Bolt and host of nephews and great nephews. Funeral arrangements are Wednesday, August 3, 2022, with visitation at 12:30 p.m., followed by service 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Salisbury, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the City Memorial Park Cemetery, Salisbury, North Carolina. Boone-Carroll Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Cleveland, North Carolina is assisting the Allen family.
