Mrs. Lizzie L. Dillard-Jarmon

August 28, 1948 — September 30, 2024

New Haven, CT

Ms. Lizzie Loree Jarmon was born on August 28, 1948 to the late Benjamin Rivers Dillard and Lena Mae Williams Dillard. She took flight from this world on Monday, September 30, 2024 in Hartford, CT.

Lizzie attended Durham Public schools and graduated from Merrick Moore high school in 1966. She continued her education taking additional courses in Administrative Assistant studies. Lizzie was known for her several abilities of coming up with beautiful ideas, decorating, and most of all, her ability to sew. Lizzie recently made a wedding gown for her cousin a couple months ago. She had a love for cooking and as years passed, she would purchase something already prepared and "doctor it up" as she would say, to fit her tastes that would then be enjoyed by others. She was known by her nieces, nephews and younger cousins as the BEST AUNT EVER when they were growing up.

Lizzie's name was put on the United House of Prayer for All People role at birth. She received the gift of the Holy Ghost and fire at an early age and had a distinguishing praise that required no usher.

In the House of Prayer, Lizzie served on numerous auxiliaries.  In New Haven, CT, she was a former Adult Usher. Before leaving for New Haven, CT, she worked faithfully with the Adult Ushers of Durham, NC where she re-introduced the Ushers Manual she authored in 2010 and revised in 2014. She was very particular about the duty of an usher including the approach to greeting people, wearing a nice crisp white uniform, the importance of usher gloves, and particularly the careful handling of shouters. This was a true passion of hers. Being raised up in House of Prayer in Raleigh, she was a member of the well-renown Apostolics, the Willing Workers, and the Usher Board.

Lizzie is preceded in love by her daughter, Tiffany Jarmon; father and mother, Elder B. R. Dillard and Lena Dillard; and cherished friends/sisters, Dorothy "Sug" Hughes and Sybil Mack.

Lizzie leaves to cherish her son, Gerred Jarmon; grandchildren: Christen, Elijah, Javion, Jamir, Jynah, Jada, Jazlyn, and Heaven all of Durham, NC; siblings: Benjamin "Ben" Dillard of Vineland, NJ, Gracie Dillard of New Haven, CT, Apostle T. Dillard of Durham, NC, and Latonya (Juan) Williams of Nashville, TN; special sisters: Patricia Dillard, Jean Williams, and Paris Johnson; special cousins Ruby Williams and Joyce Williams. Definitely not forgotten, her first born, Erih Dillard before she had children of her own, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her.
