Mrs. Mae Ethel Adkins Marlin, 72, of Lexington, North Carolina, died February 11, 2024, at her home. Born, February 2, 1952, in Catawba County North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Bishop Henry Nathaniel Adkins, Sr. (deceased) and Jean Delores Propst Adkins of Spencer, North Carolina. She was educated in the Catawba County School System and worked for 40 plus years in nursing. She was a member of Community Holiness Church of God, Salisbury, North Carolina. Her husband Samuel Marlin served in the United States Army. He preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, two sons, Lloyd Avery Allen (Kira) of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Leroy Haskins III of Lexington, North Carolina; mother, Jean Delores Propst Adkins of Spencer, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Juicy, Huggie, Keon, and Countney; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rosa L. Adkins of Spencer, North Carolina, Elizabeth A. Cowan (Michael) of Salisbury, North Carolina, Benita Adkins of Lexington, North Carolina and Emma Hamilton of High Point, North Carolina; two brothers, John R. Adkins Sr. (Eloise) of Salisbury, North Carolina and Nathaniel Adkins Jr. (Von) of Salisbury, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews and special ones she treated as her own. Funeral arrangement will be held, Saturday, February 24, 2024 with visitation at 1 p.m., followed by service 1:30 p.m., Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, 1306 S. Main Street, Lexington, North Carolina. Interment will be Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, North Carolina.
