Mr. Marshall Lorenza Fields, age 83, of Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at home. He was the son of the late Charlie and Rosa Hammie Fields.
He was born May 20, 1934 in Granville County, NC. He graduated from Mary Potter High School and song in the S.H. Davis Ensemble. He attended St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, Oxford, NC. He moved to Washington, DC in 1956 where he met and married Sarah Green, July 6, 1959. Of this union four children were born. He was employed as an engineer during his career. He retired as an engineer from Fairfax County Schools. After receiving the Holy-Spirit, he was a faithful member of Antioch Church BWWW, Alexandria, VA, where he was also a member of the Male Chorus and Senior Choir. Marshall joined Agape Worldwide Ministries under the leadership of his son, Elder Renzall J. Fields. Marshall and Sarah moved to Salisbury, NC to live with their eldest daughter due to declining health.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Pearl Fields, Blanch Fields, Delores Wright, Lavonia Royster, Ethel Jean Wright, Josephine Fields, William Joseph Fields and son Marshall L. Wright.
Marshall leaves to cherish his memories his wife Sarah; Siblings, Elder Charles Fields and Deacon Alfred S. (Hazel) Fields; Brother-in-law Minister Thomas (Virginia) Green; Children, Charles E. Wright, Sr., Marylene Wright (Willie Rose), Elder Annita Gillespie (William), Dr. Tobi Fields, Elder Renzall J. Fields, Jettie Fields, and Natina Johnson; Grandchildren, Sue Ann Wright, Charles E. Wright, Jr., Keisha Wright, Angela Wright, Tobin (Rickeshia) Fields, Yancy (Annabelle) Fields, Joseph (Angelique) Wilson, Ronald Philips, LaToya and Nicole Phillip; Great-Grandchildren, Gavin Palmer, Aron Stallings, Peyton Stallings, Tobin Fields, Jr., Tahmas Fields, TaNiya Fields, Symphiny Wilson, and NiaZeir Ra Wilson; a host of nieces and nephews; and many other close family and friends; Verna Dean Green, Crystal Robinson, Rosa Fields, Russell Wright, Dorothy Holland, Golden Giddings and Tommy Jackson.
Funeral arrangements are Saturday, November 11, 2017, with visitation at 12:30PM, followed by service at 1PM, at Tower of Power United Holy Church of America, 601 East Cemetery Street, Salisbury, North Carolina, 28144. Interment will follow in Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Comm Center Road, Salisbury, North Carolina, 28144.
