Mary Kathryn Campbell, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her son Jay and daughter-in-law Jocelyne by her side.
Born on March 1, 1952, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Mary was the daughter of Margaret and Ernest 'Bud' Kluegel. She grew up and spent years living in Mahtomedi, M.N. with brothers Richard, Peter, and sister Jan Manchester (Kluegel).
Mary was at home around the water on White Bear Lake. Some of her best memories were with her friends from grade school who she kept in touch will all her life. (Keven Seivert, Marne Johnson, and Martha Barnes)
When her son Jay was young, many bedtime stories were told of all the adventures she had on the lake with her friends.
Mary was a flight attendant with Mesaba Airlines for 23+ years. Her time in the skies reflected her adventurous spirit. Through decades of travel and connection with passengers from all walks of life, she left a lasting impression on colleagues and travelers alike.
Mary was known for her strong will and passionate nature—qualities that defined her approach to both work and life. Those who knew her recognized a woman of conviction who stood firmly for what she believed in and brought energy to every endeavor.
She is lovingly remembered by her son Jay Campbell; daughter-in-law Jocelyne Campbell; grandson Jaxon Campbell; granddaughter Celyne Campbell; and brothers Richard and Peter Kluegel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Ernest Kluegel, and her sister Jan Manchester.
A memorial service was held to honor Mary's life in Mooresville, North Carolina.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held on June 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM at St. Therese Catholic Church. 217 Brawley School Rd. Mooresville, N.C.
