Mrs. Mary Florence Price, age 83, was born June 20, 1935 in Rowan County, to the late Hugh Lyerly and Sadie Holland. Mary departed this life on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Magnolia Garden Nursing Center, Spencer, North Carolina.
She attended R. A. Clemons High School in Cleveland, North Carolina.
Mary worked at Young & Hinkle Furniture Company in Lexington, before her health began to fail her. She assisted in the building of the Kingdom Hall on the Old Concord Road. Sister Price study the bible with Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized in 1986. From then on, she was one of the first at the Kingdom Hall and one of the last to leave. She loved the Bible and before her health and sight failed, she stated that she had read it through 17 times.
Her hobby was fishing, which she loved dearly. She often talked about her fishing trip to the Coast. Sis. Mary loved to modify clothes by adding a piece of material to it to change the style. She loved to eat at McDonald and Sonic. She often talked about her love for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Debra Everhart and Linda Walker; and sister, Barbara Harper.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a daughter, Sylvia Smith; three sons, James Price III, Robert Price and Stanley Price; eight granddaughters, Yunikka Price, Natasha Everhart, Shenika Duke, Jamie Price, Takesha Truesdale, Sheena Truesdale, LeLe Price and Candice Price; Five grandsons, Brian Smith, Darrell Everhart, Johnny Everhart, J. R. Walker, and Timothy Walker; 31 Great Grand Children; a host of other cousins and friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 5PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnessess, 3411 Old Concord Road, Salisbury, North Carolina. Boone-Carroll Funeral Home of Cleveland, North Carolina is assisting the Price family. Online condolences may be sent to:
