Mrs. Mary Lois Rose

Mary Lois Lewis Rose, affectionately known as "Lois", was born in Iredell County, NC on December 23, 1919 to Will Washington Lewis and Nannie Neil Carson Lewis. She attended Houstonville School and was lifetime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was united in marriage on July 5th, 1942 to Mr. Elmore Everette Rose. Six children were born to this happy union. She was employed at and retired from Kimbrell's Furniture. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, as well as canning vegetables and fruits. On Thursday, June 25th, 2020, she left us peaceful in Autumn Care Nursing Facility. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmore Rose, her son, Glenn Edward Rose, her great-granddaughter, Amya McHenry and seven siblings: Carson Lewis, Clyde "Bruh" Lewis, Hassel Lewis, Tony Lewis, Clois "Soote" Lewis, Emma Studevent, and Gywnolyn Ikard. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Phylis Steelman, Wanda (Melvin) Carter, Priscilla Cockerham, Tanja Bellamy and Sandra Imes; two sisters, Faye Ann Porter and Barbara Jean Lewis; twelve grandchildren, Keith (Terry) Steelman, Charity Graves, Chad Carter, Channing Rose, Wyashia (Chris) Hoover, Tremaine Rose, Tecko Rose, Chasity Rose, William (Alesia) Cockerham, Christie Rucker, Christopher Rucker, and Damein Black; twenty-four great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements are Sunday, June 28th, With visitations at 1pm, followed by the service at 1:30pm, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 4789 Harmony Hwy, Hamptonville, NC. Interment church cemetery.
