Mrs. Melissa Reed

Melissa Vaselaros Reed, of Maiden, North Carolina and formerly of Elbert, West Virginia, went to her eternal rest on November 9, 2024. Born in Welch, West Virginia on October 7, 1961, Melissa was a daughter of the late George "Greek" Vaselaros and Betty Goins Vaselaros. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Reed.

Melissa graduated from Mount View High School in 1979 near the top of her class. Her love of cooking and serving food to others led to a lifetime of providing comfort and happiness for her family, friends, and restaurant customers. In her spare time, Melissa was an avid reader. All who knew her will miss Melissa's cheerful, positive outlook on life.

Left to cherish Melissa's memory are her daughter April Reed Means and husband James; mother Betty Goins Vaselaros; fiancé Teddy Rose; brother Louis Vaselaros and wife Diane; sisters Prudence Sebok and Athena Vaselaros Spencer and husband Gordon; grandchildren Kyler, Ben, and Elsie; nieces Kaylee Sebok and Tiffany Lester; nephews Devin Sebok and Ryan Spencer; and special friend Sabrina Huff.

A memorial service celebrating Melissa's life will be held in the spring in her childhood home of McDowell County, West Virginia.  Per her wishes, Melissa has been cremated and will be buried beside her son.
