With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Harold Gardner of Cleveland, a beloved father, brother, uncle and friend. He left this world on August 28, 2026. Born on January 13, 1969 in Fairfax, Virginia, Harold was a source of warmth and joy to all who knew him. He passed away peacefully after a brave battle with diabetes.

Harold was the cherished son of the late Harold Buddy Gardner and Gerry Yannarella. He was predeceased by his sister Roxanne Truax, with whom he shared a deep bond. He is survived by his wife Kim Gardner and his beloved son Jordan Gardner, who was the pride and joy of his life. Harold also leaves behind his loving sisters Denise Dunn, Jennifer Watson (Dana),Tina McCourt, step siblings Lisa Brewer,Brian Lackey, Kent Lackey, Sharon Looney as well as his dear stepmother Beth Gardner and his Aunt Rose Ann Yannarella. He was a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews. He had many cousins who will fondly remember his generosity and humor.

Harold's journey in education began at Lock Haven High School and continued at Penn State Mount Alto. He was employed as a machine press operator at Kewaunee Scientific in Statesville.Beyond his professional life, Harold had a passion for sports and the great outdoors. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Penn State football and the Washington Commanders, never missing a game if he could help it. The mountains were his sanctuary and he found great joy in hunting for mushrooms and listening to music. He loved the simple pleasure of sitting around a campfire, making mountain pies, and sharing stories with his family and friends. Above all, Harold treasured the time he spent with his son Jordan, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Harold's legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He taught us the importance of cherishing each moment and living life with kindness and generosity. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the lives he touched. The funeral service will be held on September 12th at 1:00 pm at Ambassadors for Jesus Christ, 210 Clement St., Cleveland, NC 27013.

Private burial will be held on Monday, September 14th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salisbury, NC.

In honor of Harold's life and his courageous fight against diabetes, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in Arlington, VA.
