"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."Psalm 91:1
With peaceful hearts and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Gloria Jean Sesler, who entered eternal rest on June 17, 2026. She was born on January 16, 1945, in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, to the late Morris Draughn and Annie Olivia Draughn.
Gloria attended Phillips School and dedicated over 40 years of faithful service to Yale Haven Hospital. She was admired for her unwavering dedication, kindness, compassion, and exceptional work ethic. Her commitment to serving others left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.
Gloria never met a stranger. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. She treasured time spent with family and friends, enjoyed sharing laughter, and created countless cherished memories. Her warm smile, generous heart, and loving spirit touched the lives of many.
In addition to her beloved parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her three brothers, Wendall Bazemore, Thad Calvin Draughn, and Roy Draughn; and her two sisters, Doris Draughn Edmonds and Annie Mae Barnhill.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving daughter, Angela Williams; her devoted son, Eric Sesler Sr. ("Chuckie"); her beloved grandson, Eric Sesler Jr. ("Lil Eric"); two sisters, Cynthia Thorpe of Tarboro, North Carolina, and Gladys Tillery of Whitakers, North Carolina; and four brothers, Morris Draughn (Mary) of Hamden, Connecticut, Curtis Draughn of New Haven, Connecticut, Richard Draughn of Tarboro, North Carolina, and Johnny Draughn (Patricia) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her life, love, and legacy.
Although Gloria is no longer with us in physical presence, her legacy of love, strength, kindness, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
"May the lord bless you and keep you; may His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace that passes all understanding. " Numbers 6:24–26
