Mrs. Mary Friday

Mary Padgett Friday, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life on November 22, 2025. Born in Shelby, NC, on September 7, 1948, she was the beloved daughter of Henry and Pearl Padgett.

Mary was a devoted wife to Michael Friday for 33 years and a loving mother of four. A dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her life, she was best known for her passion for decorating—especially her beautifully adorned Christmas trees that filled her home with joy each holiday season. Her strong personality, warm heart, and deep love for her family defined who she was.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her son Bruce Maddox, and her daughter Pamela Wright.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Michael Friday; her children Lisa (Derrick) Edwards and Edward Jr. (Wendy) Maddox; her daughter-in-law Jackie Maddox; stepchildren Nicole Jailes and Haile Lindsey; and her siblings Bobby, McAuthor, Pearlene, and Henrean.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: T’Nisha (Gerald) Morrison, James Wright III, Bianca Maddox, DeShawn Edwards, Bruce Maddox II, Derrick Jr. (Aleshia) Edwards, and DeQuan Maddox; and her great-grandchildren Jarius and Dreux.

She is also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever feel her absence.

Loved by many, missed by all.
