Mrs. Norma Ruth Cuthbertson passed away at Rowan Health Novant Medical Center, on May 3, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born in Davie County to the late Kessler and Mayola Clement and the granddaughter of the late Alonza and Creola (Maxwell) Clement of Cooleemee, North Carolina.
As a devoted member of Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, Cleveland, NC, she served the following organizations with love and dedication for her church family. She served on the Usher's Board, and Stewardess Board. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star Omega Chapter 242 located in Cleveland, North Carolina. Norma was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Faye Woods Presley, a great- great grandson Kadarrius Daquan Pressley Jr., a great-great granddaughter Dream Tillman; aunts Queen Esther (Theodore) Ijames; her cousins (who was like her sisters) Alice White and Annette (Richard) Cuthbertson.
Norma leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband of 59 years, James Andrew Cuthbertson her son Ricky (Clement) Cuthbertson; two daughters, Rita Cuthbertson Mack and Shonice Cuthbertson (Daniel).
In addition to her grandchildren who brought her an abundance of love and joy, they are: Mary Pressley, Anthony Pressley, James Pressley (Shonda), Edward Vonzell Cuthbertson (Shavon), and Scott A. Mason (C. Lexi Bruce) and Twenty-Three Great Grandchildren, Norma's life was, and will continue to be, a blessing to those who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations go to the building fund at Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, 2430 Hildebrand Road, Cleveland, NC, 27013.
The funeral service will be held, Saturday, 1 p.m. at Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, Cleveland, N.C.
