Mrs. Peggy Brooker

Mrs.Peggy Brooker, 74, of Salisbury, NC, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. She was born March 22, 1950 in Salisbury, NC to the late Mrs. Jessie M. Wood and Mr. Roosevelt Propst.

She attended R.A. Clement High School and graduated from McKeesport High School in McKeesport, PA. Peggy continued her career by attending and graduating Connelly School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She put her knowledge and skills to work at Kane Regional Hospital (McKeesport, PA) before returning to Salisbury, where she worked at Rowan Memorial Hospital (Novant) and continued her career at Bill Hefner VA Medical Center before retiring.

Those left to cherish her memories are her four surviving children; Reginald Propst (Cleveland, NC); Sonia Pettie (Baltimore, MD); Kimberly Propst (Atlanta, GA); Lawrence Propst (Pittsburg, PA); 19 grand-children and 8 great grand-children. Brothers: Nathaniel Propst (Spencer, NC); Jerry Propst (Statesville, NC); Garry Propst (Salisbury, NC); Larry Propst (Salisbury, NC). Sisters: Margaret Smith (Kernersville, NC); Hazel Jenkins (Charlotte, NC) and a host of nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Angela "Poochie" Propst. Along with siblings Richard Morris, Mary E. Propst and Roosevelt Saunders.

Peggy enjoyed life, being a nurse, the beach, and traveling the world and baking cakes for those she loved and had the money.

As we look back on all the memories she has given us, may we take with us her infectious laughter and her party spirit. She will truly be missed.

Arrangements:

Public Viewing will be held at Carroll-Waters Funerals & Cremations, 111 Railroad St. Cleveland, NC beginning at 1:00 pm (Saturday 20th) where family and friends can come to fellowship and celebrate her life.

Immediately following the viewing, there will be a gathering at the Home of Garry Propst 428 W. Council Street Salisbury, NC 28144. Also, anyone bringing or would like to drop off any food items can do so to this address beginning April 18th.
