Jolly 82 years old was born December 21, 1935, in Salisbury, North Carolina to the late Clarence W. Jolly and Cordelia Evans. He departed this life March 29, 2018 at Liberty Lane Hospice at the W. G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina.
"Jolly" attended Price High School in Salisbury, North Carolina. In 1953, at the age of 17 he enlisted into the United States Navy. He served in Korea for 3 years. He received an Honorably Discharged from the Navy in 1956. He then moved back home to pursue his passion for painting and became one of Salisbury's most dependable mechanics. Jolly's favorite pastime was playing golf and spending time playing with his cats. He will be greatly missed by his caregivers of 35 years Michael and Rose Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank Jolly.
He is survived by his lifelong companion Ms. Beverly Peaks Jolly of Washington, DC; three sons, Daniel Jolly of San Antonio, Texas, Kevin Jolly of Buffalo, New York and Darryl Jolly of Ruther Glen, Virginia; one sister Francella Jolly Baily; five nephews and four nieces and a host of friends.
Funeral arrangements will be Sunday, April 8, 2018, with visitation at 2pm, followed by service 2:30pm at The Potter's House Outreach Ministries. The Reverend Reginald Long, Pastor and Co-Pastor Gena Long will conduct the eulogy. Boone-Carroll Funeral Home of Cleveland, North Carolina is assisting the Jolly family.
