Mr. Tony Roderic Rowland

Mr. Tony Roderic Rowland, age 50, died in his home in Cleveland, North Carolina on March 26, 2021. Tony spent his early years in Brooklyn, New York, but moved to North Carolina and graduated from West Rowan High School in 1989. After graduation, he was proud to land a role with the Salisbury Fire Department. In 1992, Tony moved to Atlanta where he and his brother launched a delivery service. Tony later returned to Cleveland, North Carolina, where he worked at Apple Bakery & Cujo Family Care. Tony was an avid walker and talker. He also enjoyed listening to music, going to church, sitting on the porch, watching Sanford & Son, and cooking-he considered himself a Chef. He is preceded in death by his parents (Maude C. Jones & Robert Rowland); brother, (Christopher Rowland), and son (Roderic A. Rowland). Tony is survived by his daughter, Qur'an Rowland and son, Quincy "Ali" Rowland, who both reside in Cleveland. He is also survived by his step father, James W.Jones Jr.; sister, Jillian M. Jones; a friend Satonya Smyre, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral arrangements will be Wednesday, April 7th at Cedar Grove AME Church, Cleveland, North Carolina. Visitation at 12pm-12:30pm, followed by Funeral Service at 12:30pm.
