Wayne Stevenson Evans, II, was born in Columbus, Mississippi on July 31,1965.
His nickname "Jodie" was derived from a popular song of the era. He was the first son and second child born to Viola Wilson Evans and Wayne Stevenson Evans I.
Wayne lived all of his childhood and some of his young adult years in Salisbury, attending schools in Rowan County, NC and Los Angeles County, CA. He was multi talented and was skilled in plumbing, electrical, metal and roofing work. He was also a great cook and worked for several restaurants in Salisbury. Wayne last worked part time at Dollar General in Spencer, NC.
"Jodie" was unselfishly generous and would give you his last, without expectation of anything in return. He loved laughter, a good time and socially interacting with others. He was regarded with love and treasured by many. He was often acknowledged as one of the favorite cousins.
On December 31, 2022, Wayne Stevenson Evans, II departed this earthly life in Maggie Valley, NC.
He was preceded in death by the Love of His Life, Theresa Miles; Mother, Viola Wilson Evans; Maternal Grandparents, Cain Wilson and Clarisa Bost Wilson; Paternal Grandparents, Arwilder Evans and Lucille Hairston Evans.
Wayne leaves to cherish his memories, a son, Jonathan Shaw (Calvin) of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Candace Evans of Salisbury, NC; Bonus Children, Christopher Jackson and Clarissa Evans of Salisbury, NC; Father, Wayne Evans I (Shirley), West Palm Beach, FL; Brother, Warren Evans (Christine), Fayetteville, NC; Sisters, Wanda Brown (Robert), Los Angeles, CA. and Avis Johnson (Shona), West Palm Beach, FL; Aunt, Joanne Evans Wheeler (James) of Los Angeles, CA; Uncle, Freddie Wilson Koontz (Ida Mae) of Queen, NY; Mothers of his children, LaTonia Shaw and Stephanie Jackson; Best Friend, Tre Yelverton (Vickie); Special Friends, Rhonda Walton and Aaliah Walton; Special Cousin, Rene Wilson Robinson as well as a host of cousins, other family and friends.
Wayne Stevenson Evans II, "Jodie" will always be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
