Mr. William Anthony Gillespie 57, was born on September 25, 1964 to the late Matthew Neil Ray, Sr. and Annie G. Willis. He departed this life on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at home. William was educated in the Hoke County School System, Raeford North Carolina and graduated with the class of 1982. Also, he took great pride in the fact that he studied Culinary Arts in Raleigh, North Carolina. William has worked as a chef and was at peace around any grill. He enjoyed the fellowship that came with every meal. William was also self-employed as a handy man and construction worker before retiring, due to his health. William married Annita January 10, 2016, in Salisbury, North Carolina. They traveled and enjoyed seeing the world, (even though he hated airplanes)! They covered nine different states visiting family and friends and loved every minute of it! Annita supported and encouraged greatness as his loving wife until the end.
William was preceded in death by his father, and nephew Dorian.
